Workouts

This week we decided that working out in my backyard would be so much better especially with the kids and because our group is still fairly small.
Monday was so much better because we didn't have heart attacks while the kids were out playing and we were able to get our workouts in.
I must admit, our workout wasn't as hard or challenging as usual so Thursday I'm going to need to find some new workouts that will challenge us and we can leave dripping wet with sweat and know that it was totally worth our time.
Sometimes I feel like I hold back a little but need to push myself as well as everyone else in our group so we are reaching our fullest potential fitness wise.
If you are in the so-cal area and are looking for a fun way to get to know other people as well as get in a workout and play date all in one stop, feel free to contact me.
The more the merrier.
It's always great to have a support group no matter the size.
I've gained great relationships through this fitness group and can't wait to see what's in our future!

Monday's workout

As I was reading the workout regimen that Fitmamas_wvc posted, I didn't think it was going to be that hard.
As I was typing it up, I looked up a few of the exercises on Google just to make sure we'd be doing them correctly.
Crunches and cardio. No big deal, right?
WRONG!!
I think the thing that killed me the most were the bear crawls especially at the end and the planks.
Like I've mentioned before, I have no upper arm strength so the walk up push up planks were hard but I can't wait to see in a couple weeks time how much strength and progress we've had.

Saturday workout

The last two Saturdays I have invited any and all to meet me at Mile Square Park near my house for a fun, FREE workout out. I don't know about you, but I'm pretty strapped for time.
I have A LOT on my plate so having to put in tons of hours into working out is just not going to happen.
Thank goodness for HIIT workouts. (high intensity interval training)
I did insanity and was pretty diligent for 4 weeks, then I found this thing called running and have been running since. It's so addicting to me.
But in order to work on my long distance training, I was told I needed to implement strength and conditioning.
The first Saturday, two ladies showed up.
Mavis and her sister Paia.
They have been my support group for the last two weeks and have been great in doing the workouts that have been posted.

To be honest, I don't care if it's just us three for the next three months because as long as I have a supportive and motivating group to workout with, I know we'll help each other out.
The fact that these girls are HILARIOUS is just a plus!!
Last Saturday my husband helped put together a few drills for us to do.
We did football drills and they were tough especially since I was already sore from working out my legs a few days before that.
We found little hills at Mile Square so I'm thinking we'll find a way to implement them.
We probably won't be doing the tire flipping soon but many sand bags up our little hills will be a start.

My greatest take away in starting this group is that support is necessary.
Having a group and support system to talk to, motivate you, to push you and remind you of your goals is essential.
Having these ladies workout with me helps me want to keep going and keeps me accountable.
Thank you girls for being dedicated and for always showing up!!
You two are the BEST!

Welcome to Fitmama's So-Cal

This group originated from Fitmama's WVC. Check out their blog or Facebook page to see how this group started.
These women are amazing and I look up to them.
They help keep me inspired and motivated.
I am originally from Utah.
I usually post all happenings of life on Reupena Household.
I have some friends from high school that I've recently come in contact again through social media.
Following them on Instagram and Facebook has really motivated me to become healthier and fit.
A few women got together and started working out in their backyard.
They started with 4 mothers who just wanted to get in shape and stay fit and now this group has blossomed into 40 women that get together at a local park.
I'll have to post a picture. Their Memorial Day workout was amazing and they had 50 people come out and participate in their challenge.
I will be posting a lot of their workouts to stay in tune with the group as a whole but of course I will find ways that will work for those who live in Southern California.
It has been such a sight to see how fast this group has grown.
I thought it was only fitting to join in on this fun.
Since I can't physically workout with my friends in Utah, I thought it'd be a great idea to start a southern California group; a counter part for Fitmamas WVC.
Here I will post workouts, weekly challenges, dates and times of when we will meet for group workouts in the So-Cal area and recipes.
I understand that So-Cal is a big area so posting daily workouts and motivational posts will help those who can't physically come to a workout with the rest of us and be able to get tips and support they otherwise wouldn't get without it costing a pretty penny!
This blog will be all things fitness, motivation and goal keeping as well as finding ways to reach those goals.
I am not a coach and not certified BUT I have lost the weight I gained after three kids and have been able to keep that weight off.
Living a healthier lifestyle doesn't have to be hard or cost hundreds of dollars.
I have been able to keep away from gym fees, paying for classes and the non-genuine feeling you get from most trainers. I have been able to implement every day household supplies as well as my own children to use as weights. (trust me it's fun!)
Working out should be fun and having a support systems does wonders for an individual.
It's been great for me and I hope to share the same for those who are wanting to start making changes in their lives.
Welcome to this journey of being fit, being strong and being the most comfortable & most amazing YOU that you can become!
